Kerby Jean-Raymond makes powerful statement on police brutality with NYFW show

A month ago, designer Kerby Jean-Raymond was standing outside a friend’s apartment talking on the phone. He had recently injured two of his fingers, which were bandaged with black tape. The police, he says, mistook the injured fingers for a gun. When he turned around, he had two guns pointed at him. That’s when he knew that he had to do this show.

It’s also worth noting that Jean-Raymond has already lost money due to doing this show.
